At the age of 18 Megan was diagnosed with stage 4 Ewing Sarcoma after 2 years of being unwell and numerous visits to doctors and health care facilities. Despite her diagnosis Megan was strong and never allowed her cancer to define her. Megan underwent the most brutal chemotherapy the NHS can offer as well as an 8 hour surgery in which she lost one of her kidneys and her tumour was removed. Her chemo was so brutal her body struggled to recover and she required blood transfusions, several rounds of anti-biotics and emergency admissions.
Megan had plans of travelling the world and was just starting her adult life, instead of deciding which nightclub she was going to go to she was deciding how to preserve her fertility. Megan underwent many procedures which drained her physically and mentally. As COVID-19 took its toll on the world Megan like so many others became isolated and torn away from the world she needed most. She underwent her radiotherapy during this time which took her spark each time.
She recovered as best she could to be told the most amazing news she was cancer free on the 4th of July 2020, a day not only her but her family were over joyed to hear. Plans were made and everyone could breath again. This did not last and 3 short months later her cancer returned more aggressive and she was now terminal. She was given a year, she died 7 weeks later. She died with her incredible mam and dad with her giving her all the love anyone could have.
Our amazing and special girl is no longer with us, a hole has been created which can never be filled. We will never heal, we will never recover but we will live on with her name in our mouths.
We will do everything she wanted to do, we will wear her name with pride and we will help others who are like us. We will make her proud with every breath and step we take. We will stand by those who are fighting the fight she did and we will be the pillars to others that we as a family needed. We will never give up as she never gave up.

'As everyone knows around 5 months ago I got the amazing news of getting the all clear! and honestly, I was absolutely buzzing and so grateful to get that second chance at life! Unfortunately, on 21st October I found out I have relapsed as they found two new tumour's making it terminal cancer and because of a late relapse they don't believe I have ling left here which is the most heart-breaking news for myself, my family and my friends. I am writing this to make people realise how anything can happen tomorrow and your life isn't promised. Please never go to sleep in a mood with someone and do absolutely WHATEVER makes you happy because life is short. As a 19 year old lass I shouldn't have to be able to plan my own funeral or not be able to get married and much, much more what you think you will do in life! I'm SO grateful to spend my last memories with the most amazing people in my life and they have been the most supportive and caring people that have never left myside and I know they will stay with me till the very end. Please do what you want in life that will make you happy and don't take any bullsh*t from people that put you down for doing so! All the love in the world to the people who are by my side right now!'

Every day a family is praying their loved one makes it through their fight against cancer. Everyday a family mourns their loved one who is no longer with them. Everyone who loses their life to cancer never lost, they simply took their next step which was no longer on this earth. As we breath we must fight to help others. Fight with us. Yo
