We have been extremely grateful to have had so many people fundraise for the charities close to Megan's heart, in the year since her passing we have had a number of people fundraise and which has raised a total of £25,691 which has been donated to Sarcoma UK, Teenage Cancer Unit at RVI ward 4, Cancer Research UK, Macmillan and The Little Princess Trust.
Before she passed away Megan had made a bucket list of all the things she wanted to do before she died and the first thing on her list was a skydive which she organised before she passed away. Sadly Meg did not get to do this however her best friend and one of our charities trustees Madison Rutherford took over organising this and on the 24th of April 2021, 35 of Megan's closest friends and family members skydived from 15,000 feet which raised over £12,000.
Megan also wanted to organise a charity rave to raise money for Ward 4 at the Teenage Cancer Unit at the RVI Children's Hospital. Madison with the help of Kieran Smith organised the rave Megan wanted and this took place on the 10th of September 2021 and raised a total of £4,036. We would like to say a massive thank you to Lauryn Lawson, Jordan Fraser, Nicole Borisova and Catherine Latimer who gave their time to volunteer at Megan's rave.
Megan's Brother in law Thomas Morley completed the Ultra North 55k Marathon and one of Megan's closest friends Matthew Waterson completed the Great North Run.
Many other members of Megan's family have also fundraised, Sharon Keith Megan's Auntie who has done two Christmas raffles which has raised an amazing £1,925. Megan's brother Peter completed a 36 hour gaming stream.
Megan's uncle Shaun and her friend Connor Richardson shaved their hair in support of Megan.
We would also like to say thank you to the staff at Grand Central and Gateshead Recovery Partnership who have fundraised in Megan's name.
Finally a huge thank you to Charlotte Henderson, Tara Copper, Imogen Evans, Rebecca Pendleton, Jack Waterson, Julie Maxwell, Jane Kelly, Kim Kelly and Rachel Heads who have also raised money in honour of Megan.
In the year since her passing we have raised an incredible amount of money and we hope to continue to raise more money. We will keep everyone updated on all our future events and updates on our fundraising journey.
